| My trip in Japan will almost be over. Let's see, some highlights in Osaka: KaiYuKan the largest aquarium in the world. Home to a white spotted blue whale shark and sun fish (rare & quite ugly). Some of the nicest people you will ever meet. My friend, Shino's family have graciously taken me under their wing, not to mention her mom's awesome cooking. She also has a Corgi named Ginga (silver fang). He sheds a lot, smells of wet dog, loves women and love to sniff crotches. A fellow American informed me that It is so safe here that he was more afraid of dying of a bike accident. Out of 4 million people, only about 50 crimes happen each day, usually purse snatchings. Guys own purses here too. Osaka's fashion scene is rather extreme. It is close to freezing and girls wear short mini skirts and pointy high heeled boots. As long as they looked good, losing a few limbs to frost bite is not so high a price to pay.
For new year's, the families send new year cards to each other to update friends and relatives of any new additions in the family and wish each other a happy new year. This year is the year of the Dog, just like the Chinese new year, which will be occuring fairly early this year in January - I think it is on the 29th -. Shino's family and I traveled to Mizuru, Kyoto, her mother's hometown to visit her grandmother and spend the new year. I learned how to make mochi and shovel snow. I wore a kimono on new year's day and went one of the famous temples in that area. Black soy beans - kuromame - is native to that area and is also a new year treat.
More later, I am going to Umeda now (one of Osaka's Downtown) to raid the bank and to watch Memoirs of a Geisha - Sayuri (the name of the Geisha) - how appropriate & then play volleyball. |

| Friendster Horoscope for May 7, 2005
SCORPIO (OCT 23 - NOV 21)
The Bottom Line
It's shocking but true: Your opponent may be stronger than you. Be smarter.
In Detail
There's no way to talk you out of taking absolutely everything seriously now. That goes double for duties that have been handed down to you because someone else dropped the ball. But you have other responsibilities -- to a certain loved one, for example, who's been patient and understanding and done everything they possibly could to hang tough while you were busy paying your dues. How about letting them know how much you appreciate it?
